Duntroon is located in the beautiful Waitaki Valley, beside the Maerewhenua River, very near to the south banks of the Waitaki River. It is 30 minutes inland from Oamaru. If you are travelling the famous Dansey’s Pass route, Duntroon is located 500 metres west of where the road to Dansey’s Pass meets State Highway 83. Duntroon is a short detour off your route if you are travelling north or south, either up the middle of the island or the east coast. Duntroon is also located on the Alps to Ocean Cycle Trail.
